SG Day 1: Of Kopi and Kaya Toast

By the way, the transient house we are staying for the next 5 days is owned by Filipina named Aimee (with her family of course). She has two rooms for rent. The place is walking distance from the hawker and to Compass Point mall which is adjacent to Sengkang MRT Station. Sengkang is in the Purple Line of the MRT so it goes direct to the Harbourfront, the place we head to for Universal Studios on our second day. Overall, I think the place is just the right choice not as busy as the city and definitely homey!

Between 9-10 am our guides for the day arrived and we head to the hawker for breakfast.

One of the things I love in SG is their Kopi and Kaya Toast, which served to be my breakfast for the day at the nearby hawker called Kopitiam. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask the lady for milk. hehe But nonetheless, I enjoyed my Kopi :)

Our First Stop - get some SG dollars in the city! Apprarently it is advisable to exchange your peso in SG.

We also have exchanged some to Ringgit since we are heading to Malaysia on the weekend.

We continued walking around. Passed by Fullerton hotel, Esplanade, Merlion, Harbour overlooking the Marina Bay Sands. It was a hot day but we had a great time taking pictures all along.

Wishing at Fountain of Wealth

We decided to have lunch at Suntec and then made our way to the Fountain of Wealth.

After that, we proceed to the Singapore Flyer and get an amazing view of Singapore! It was lovely. We went around the malls at Orchard Road before heading to Novena for dinner.

Nice and posh mall at Marina Bay

For dinner we went to Novena to try Wee Nam Kee and the Hainanese chicken. I also got to meet my ex-colleagues, Grace and Mia. We also dropped by the church just infront of the Wee Nam Kee.

We had a great dinner of chicken, prawns and siomai soup. We were tired but the group still decided to go back to the city and check out Marina Bay Sands.

We entered the hotel just to check it out and also dropped by the Marina Bay Mall.

Great to see Grace and Mia - so much flash!

Marina Bay Sands Models! :)

We got back to the house around past 12. It was an eventful Day 1. We didn't have that much sleep but it was great to marvel all the sights around the city. Off we slept for some rest as the next day is our USS (Universal Studios Singapore) day!
