Tips N' Travels Singapore 5 Day Itinerary

Finally, I got time to proceed with writing up the itinerary! Well the timings may have actually changed but I've tried my best to include all the places and sights we did in our trip!

Prologue: The Long Wait is Over

I feel so guilty not having started my blog about my recent trip to Singapore. So even if I haven't organized my thoughts yet I'll give it a shot and hopefully remember what has happened in the five days that we spent going around and enjoying the amazing sights around the Lion City.

So what are we waiting for...

I've booked this trip around April of 2010. There was a promo (what else?) from Cebu Pacific. I was still unsure who I'll be travelling with but I knew right then and there I want to book any international flight for 2011. I've sent text messages to people I know who might like to join. And yay, I found them! My high school servicemates - Camille, Angge and Ize. We all come from the same high school and it was early 2010 when we all meet again after 9-10 years? Oh was it that long? Over dinner and drinks we decided we wanted to plan a trip for us servicemates as soon as we are able to find any promo fares. And there it was...click here and there and we are booked for Singapore on the last week of January of 2011.

The wait is tough but it was all worth it. We tried to plan as much as we can. Reserve and find accommodations. Prepare the activities we wanted to try. It was definitely a trip worth remembering. I for the most part was really excited I made some computations and itineraries for the trip. I loved doing it!

We made online booking of our Universal Studios Tickets. We decided we wanted to go to Malaysia for a day to check out the Petronas Towers so we booked a one way bus from SG to Kuala Lumpur. The bus ticket have also been booked online.

Days and months passed until we realised we are a few weeks from our flight. I wasn't too excited around Christmas time and New year since I was kind of busy thinking so much about work...haha but 2 weeks to go and it got me up and running for excitement. We need a hotel or a transient house to stay. I had to ask around and consult with my servicemates where we can possible stay. I then finally found one online. It's a transient house in Sengkang for 18SGD per person per day. It should be cheaper than hotels I suppose so we took it. I managed to reserve the next day by depositing thru a bank. So everything's set. I only need the SG dollars for my pocket money! Hahaha Good thing a relative of mine just came back from SG that day we are about to leave so I bought her dollars :)

We are meeting up 5pm and altogether head to the airport. Thanks to Angge's tito for driving us to Terminal 3.

We arrived before 7pm and since the check in counter is not yet open, we then decided to grab something to eat. We head to the 2nd floor of the airport where the food court is and bought Jollibee burgers hehe.

After the dinner, we went to check in. We had to wait a while in queue and go around to pay terminal fees and departure tax as usual. Passed by the immigration and around 8pm we are ready to go to the boarding gates.

Within an hour or two we arrived safely in Singapore - The Lion City!

My trip to Singapore is definitely one way to start my year right. I have been thinking too much about work so this vacation is a great breather. Unfortunately, it doesn't last that long so now I'm back again to the usual grind. But since it's weekend, I'm glad I still finally had the chance to upload those photos. Yay!

There's so much to see and do in SG that I still hope to go back and try those that I haven't been to yet. If I do plan to go, I might as well drop by Indonesia too!

In summary, our first day is spent walking around and exploring the sights around the city. Second day is for Universal Studios. Third day is our tour around Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Fourth day is for Sentosa. Fifth day is for Singapore Zoo. Sixth day is the day we leave and depart for Manila.

I guess we've covered the best of SG so far thanks to the help of our guides, it was so easy for us to get through the transpo and sights to check out. It was also fun to have great company during the trip. It was my first time to travel with my high school service mates.

Dreaming excitedly on a Weekend

It's black Saturday. And I know most people are away on a holiday with families and friends. I on the other hand has just been at home since Thursday. Usually online but also just doing a movie marathon. I've watched around 6 movies in the last 2 days and a few more today...what a productive weekend ey!

Last Thursday when I was boringly checking websites, my office emails and reading blogs, I tried checking Ceb Pac website. I got the habit of checking it once in a while especially on those boring nights...

And there goes again...my dream of travelling is fired up once more...*grin*

I have hastily booked a flight to Singapore for January of next year. Oh yes! I wanted to go to Korea actually but I'm a little hesitant about still getting a visa but I love to go there soon!!!

So, I checked the SG flights and told myself, SG wouldn't hurt plus we can include Malaysia and Indonesia on the itinerary too! Like hitting 2(or three) birds with one stone! I like that idea. So yeah, it's a 5 day trip to SG/Malaysia and/or (if time permits) Indonesia. I'm going with some high school service mates/friends which actually sounds exciting to me! We have all been looking forward to organizing this trip with the rest of the group but only the 4 of us are available...so instead of not pushing it through...oh well we grabbed the chance and booked for the flight! Our fares are 70% off how cool is that!

Now, I'm again embarking the journey of sleepless nights of preparation. Doing up itineraries, finding hotels, researching tourist spots and what nots. This is so fun! But of course, I will not forget, preparing for the budget. It is good though because we have quite a few months to prepare. And I'm just so so excited. I can't hide it!

I love travelling...isn't it obvious? Haha

I'm thinking of doing 1 whole day around the city and then another day at Sentosa.
In KL, I'm just interested to go see the Petronas Towers...In Indonesia I'm hoping to see the Borubudur. Unfortunately, it'll be a flight away so might not be possible this time. I'm happy to just try Singapore and Malaysia for now. And leave something to be back in the future. But of course, I have to arrange this with the rest of the people I'm travelling with.

Probably in the not so distant future, I would finally try and be a solo traveler. Sounds exciting!
